NUCCA Chiropractic is a gentle and precise technique that creates body balance and restores brain and body communication. NUCCA named after the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association primarily focuses on the top vertebrae of the spine called the Atlas bone or C1. It is a ring like bone at the base of your skull that surrounds the brain stem. When this bone is out of alignment your body twists and turns all out of position to compensate for the weight of your head, so that you don't fall over because of the effects of gravity. Typically if you are out of alignment you will have a high shoulder or a high hip showing that there is body imbalance. This technique has proven successful with several symptoms of spinal misalignment including:

- Headaches/Migraines
- Neck Pain
- TMJ (Jaw) Pain
- Concussions
- Vertigo/Dizziness
-Upper back pain
-Lower back pain
-Sciatica
-Scoliosis
-Whiplash
-Imbalanced Posture

Manual Osteopathic Therapy, often referred to as osteopathy, is a holistic healthcare approach that focuses on the musculoskeletal system and its connection to overall health. A hands on approach is used to diagnose and treat various conditions, with the goal of improving the body's natural ability to heal itself. Therapists treat root causes, not symptoms.

Key principles and techniques of manual osteopathic therapy include:

Structural Assessment: Practitioners assess the patient's posture, alignment, and range of motion to identify areas of dysfunction or restriction in the musculoskeletal system.

Manual Techniques: Osteopathic therapists use various hands-on techniques, such as stretching, gentle pressure, and manipulation, to restore mobility and balance in the body. These techniques aim to alleviate pain, improve circulation, and enhance the body's ability to heal.

Holistic Approach: Osteopathy considers the body as a whole, recognizing that problems in one area can affect other parts of the body. Therapists seek to address the root causes of health issues rather than just treating symptoms.

Patient-Centered Care: Osteopathic therapists work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans. They often emphasize patient education and self-care to promote long-term well-being.

Under the umbrella of Manual Osteopathic Therapy, you will find craniosacral therapy, joint mobilizations, manual lymphatic drainage, muscle energy techniques, myofascial therapy, osteoarticulations and visceral manipulation. These modalities are strategically used in conjunction or on their own to provide clients with a whole body perspective- body, mind, spirit.

Each treatment is specifically designed and altered to client needs to promote and restore body balance. Conditions that may benefit from Manual Osteopathic Therapy include musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, back pain, neck pain, joint issues, sciatica, headaches, migraines, TMJ, concussions, digestive disturbances, insomnia, tinnitus and more.

To prepare for her career, Dakota attended Mount Royal University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Health & Physical Education: Physical Literacy in 2019.
